Dr. Michele Ceriotti, Associate Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, will speak on campus Thursday, October 5, 4-5 pm. His talk will address ways that physical-chemical ideas can be integrated into a machine-learning framework.

Emily Bender Will Speak on the Risks and Use of Large Language Models

In a public lecture at the Discovery Building’s DeLuca Forum on September 14, 3 p.m., Dr. Bender will provide an overview of how language models work, discuss risks associated with them, and explore what must hold for an appropriate use case for text synthesis.
